So if you’ve been following our website you probably think that all we do is laser cutting. We certainly did our best to bash mechanical machining and show you why laser is a better option. This is certainly still true for depaneling PCBs and cutting thin materials.

With that being said, we do have a 3 axis CNC machine.

Don’t be! Laser machines can do a lot of things that mechanical CNCs cant, but the inverse of that is also true. To be able to offer you an all-around engineering service for your projects we had to have both types of machines.

Just like our choice of laser machines, we also chose the best CNC machine out there for precision machining. Our Lenz machine is a capable 3 Axis mill/drill/router.

Among the many things this machine is capable of, our favorite use is making fixtures for our laser projects. Whether be it depaneling of a loaded PCB or laser processing of nonflat geometries, like laser engraving small cylindrical parts or even micro-drilling of small peek tubes. With the right tooling choices and file design, we’re capable of machining almost any geometry need.

Another use for this machine for us is surface step downs and grooves. So if your design requires a step down to a certain depth then we can certainly do that using this machine. We’re also able to create grooves and trenches for your laser cut parts that we couldn’t normally do on lasers, this has allowed us to make squeegee spatulas with a precision chamfered edge for some of our customers.

The limits what we can use this machine to rely basically on your imagination. Most regular machine shops use CNC machines to drill or route PCBs. Not us though! We have the know-how and skill to utilize all our machines to make your projects come to life without having to go to multiple vendors and deal with the headaches and delays.
