How to Submit a Strong RFQ
At A-Laser, our engineers and RFQ submitters share the same goal: moving from quote to part as quickly and smoothly as possible. A clear RFQ helps minimize follow-ups and keeps your project on track. Here are a few tips to make the process easier:
Part Files
- Are our files compatible? CAD files should be submitted as .stp or .dxf files.
- Include a PDF technical drawing with tolerances.
Material
- Let us know if you’re providing material or you’d like us to source it. We’re happy to work with preferred vendors when noted.
- Need third-party material testing or plating? No problem! We’re happy to guide you through the process. Just keep in mind this may add time and cost.
Special Notes
- Share any company-specific quality or packaging requirements. A-Laser is ITAR registered and ISO 9001:2015 certified. We’re able to meet additional PO conditions upon request.
- If possible, include the application for your parts. This helps us help you…we might know of alternative and cost-effective solutions. For example, substituting name-brand material for generic brand to reduce costs or opening up tolerances for a shorter lead time!
- Indicate desired quantity and whether you prefer one delivery or scheduled shipments.
Not every RFQ will be perfect, and that’s okay. Our team is committed to supporting you from the information you provide, filling in the gaps, and making the process as smooth as possible. Delivering high-quality precision parts and exceeding expectations is our top priority.
