Laser cutting services are being put to the test to achieve fine pitch patterns in polyimide materials, such as Kapton film. Our frequency tripled NdYag lasers are able to service this market due to their high precision, clean cutting ability, and miniscule beam radius. A-laser is able to laser cut drill 10 micron holes, cut 2 mil slots, and make nice round 4 mil circles. We are able to repeat this accurately across the span of the table to within +/- 12 microns. Additionally, the material is stripped away in such a manner as to leave very clean edges. A-laser is a unique laser cutting service, ideal for the most dificult laser cutting applications.

FCT Assembly/A-Laser ISO 9001:2008
Friday, January 22nd, 2010FCT Assembly, the parent company to A-laser, has recently completed the update from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008 for precision parts, solder, and stencil manufacturing. These standards ensure that our laser cutting service consistently provides the high quality parts the equipment is capable of producing. It isn’t good enough to just certify any process, it must be the right process. Our quality management team spent countless hours to be certain that our processes are up to the standard our customers expect from our various laser cutting services.
laser cutting specialty metals
Thursday, January 21st, 2010We have a variety of laser cutting customers that require our services for ultra thin precious metal foils. They choose our laser cutting service for a few number of reasons, but two stand out today. A-laser has generated a large amount of experience with materials such as gold, silver, and platinum and we know the effects of laser processing going in. Therefore, we can reduce the expense of retooling and experimenting. Secondly, due to our beam size and accuracy, laser cut parts can be spaced much tighter than hard tooling alternatives. These are just two of many factors that make our laser cutting service ideal for processing intricate, precious metal parts.

A-Laser in San Jose
Monday, January 11th, 2010FCT Assembly has moved it’s high precision laser cutting service, A-Laser, to San Jose, California. This move allows us to take advantage of being local in one of the United States major technology hubs while maintaining quick turn capabilities for customers worldwide. A winter storm in the northwest tested our patience, but we were able to transition our equipment south without any major dificulties and are running at full capacity! The laser operators are one of the keys to our success and we are very lucky to have brought our core staff along with us on this move. Thanks guys! Therefore, our move is complete and our customers can expect the highest level of quality and service to continue from A-laser.
